Ashley Tisdale: 'It's Alright, It's OK' Single And Video Review
|
Song: It's Alright, It's OK Artist: Ashley Tisdale Album: Guilty Pleasure Release Date: 29 May 2009 (IRL), 1 June 2009 (UK) Genre: Pop rock, electronic rock Peak Position: TBA (IRL), TBA (UK) SONG REVIEW: Now I won't lie, I'm a sucker for female rockers no matter how pop inclined they may be so this new direction Tisdale has gone in gets the nod from me. It's Alright, It's OK is clearly trying to be Kelly Clarkson's Since U Been Gone but as you'd expect it fails! While it may be a catchy, addictive empowerment anthem with a nice dose of electro beats, Tisdale's girly whine just can't compete with Clarkson's powerhouse vocals. |

VIDEO REVIEW: Then there's Since U Been Gone which shows Tisdale recreating the whole good relationship between her and her lover in the past before thrashing his house after realising he's not everything he's cut out to be. And then there's Cry Me A River which sees Tisdale hook up with a number of guys (as opposed to one girl in the Timberlake video) in her ex-lover's house while filming the footage for the ex to see in front of his current squeeze who walks out on him. So while it loses points for unoriginality, the video is very sharp looking and Tisdale looks very sexy as a sophisticated brunette.
