SONG REVIEW:
Hilary Duff, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens...such a long line of Disney stars, will they ever end? Unlikely as Ashley Tisdale is the latest singer/actress/model/philantropist to release yet another album full of sugary teen pop tunes. Like her High School Musical cohort Vanessa Hudgens, Tisdale returns with her second album and style by going in the increasingly popular pop rock direction and ditching the dance pop/R&B style of her debut.

Now I won't lie, I'm a sucker for female rockers no matter how pop inclined they may be so this new direction Tisdale has gone in gets the nod from me. It's Alright, It's OK is clearly trying to be Kelly Clarkson's Since U Been Gone but as you'd expect it fails! While it may be a catchy, addictive empowerment anthem with a nice dose of electro beats, Tisdale's girly whine just can't compete with Clarkson's powerhouse vocals.

VIDEO REVIEW:
The video is hardly an original piece of work borrwing from Kelly Clarkson's Since U Been Gone, Justin Timberake's Cry Me A River and to a lesser extent Chris Brown's Forever. Okay, first of all the least likely comparison is Forever in that Ashley Tisdale is seen performing in front of a fountain in a night time setting.

Then there's Since U Been Gone which shows Tisdale recreating the whole good relationship between her and her lover in the past before thrashing his house after realising he's not everything he's cut out to be. And then there's Cry Me A River which sees Tisdale hook up with a number of guys (as opposed to one girl in the Timberlake video) in her ex-lover's house while filming the footage for the ex to see in front of his current squeeze who walks out on him. So while it loses points for unoriginality, the video is very sharp looking and Tisdale looks very sexy as a sophisticated brunette.
