Not one but TWO collaborations from Beyoncé and Lady GaGa

Well, two of the hottest divas in the pop music industry have had both their collaborations leak online (coincidence?). Video Phone by Beyoncé, an old track from her I Am...Sasha Fierce LP has now been remixed with vocals from GaGa and will appear on the Platinum Edition of the album. While I've always admired the slick, eerie beat-driven intro from the original which has thankfully being extended with some Wild West themed effects, the track has always been too overlong and plodding for my liking. While GaGa adds a refreshing twist to the song, both her and Beyoncé showing plenty of swagga, I still find that this track is a bit of a bore. Hopefully my opinion of this song will change when the "wild" delayed video premieres on the 23rd November (as rumour has it)!

Thankfully Telephone turns out to be much better. The track which will become the second single from GaGa's The Fame Monster album is hot, hot, hot! Starting out with a restrained harp section, the song literally explodes into a massive club banger. GaGa provides more of her trademark stuttery hooks while Beyoncé unleashes her raspy, powerful vocals around the middle eight of the song. While this song was destined to be a hit anyway, it deservedly will be one because this track is yet another addictive club pop song by GaGa and having Beyoncé on the track just adds to the star power.

Gaga better than Beyonce

Yep, I'm preferring the Gaga track more than the Beyonce one. But then I believe Gaga's "trademark sluttery" is one of the best things about her.

Interesting that you would say that...

Interesting that you would say that because I find the Beyoncé track sounds a lot more sluttier than the GaGa. While Lady GaGa sings about not answering her phone against a club beat, Beyoncé moans a lot against a sexy beat while asking someone to video her. I think Video Phone is the more sluttier track! Funny how humble old Beyoncé outsluts crazy GaGa!
