She’s back, she’s nuts, she’s genius! – Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance Video Review

Gaga

It’s no secret that Lady Gaga is absolutely in sane, and those who are still not sure just need to watch her new vid, as all her eccentricity really shines through in Bad Romance.

The esthetic is more than cheeky and would certainly make Andy Warhol proud. Gaga is the vivid image of pure glam pop and a big breath of fresh air in the music panorama. Every part of the visual and musical puzzle is flawlessly ensembled together in Bad Romance, and it’s chillingly voyeur and exciting.

Seven eerie monsters dressed in shiny plastic ultramodern costumes creep out of bath-coffins. Everything is Apple-white and resembles Scott’s Blade Runner. Gaga and her backdancers move to the electro beats of the song in what could perfectly be a madhouse! (Are those the Thriller arm moves?) This time Gaga also takes her masks and make-up off and shows her B side crying – she’s got feelings!

Then we have an all-in-black Gaga just back from her very own funeral (the old one died!), followed with the orange-haired mental patient with absolutely massive eyeballs delirious in a square bath. She’s gone mad, yet again, and strives to acomplish her revenge transforming into a glam showgirl assassin: the Paparazzi killer is back! Everything is warily looked after to the millimitre – that’s what money honey does.

What about the usual sex? Well it’s in the lyrics: I want your psycho, your vertical stick; and certainly in the outfits (and the no-outfits), her moves and her weapon: firing boobs!

The whole scramble of creepy-evil monsters, futuristic flashes and the as familiar schizophrenic Lady Gaga is simply genius. She’s done it again, and even one step above her previous work.

RATING: * * * * *
