X Factor Queen Week: Joe McElderry- Somebody To Love

Cheryl’s last act of the night – Joe McElderry started tonight's performance well. He kicked off with a gospel choir, and his approach was more George Michael than Freddie Mercury, a good choice for his vocal style. He had good clarity in his voice, though he needed to project a little more. Joe gave a thoroughly solid performance tonight – he looked like he’s enjoying it and he handled the final high note brilliantly. Yes, I think we love Joe again

Judges comments:

Dannii Minogue: That was fantastic – that’s one of the biggest Queen songs. You bring it on every week. Brilliant.

Louis Walsh: It was a really really big song for a little guy from the North of England. You did a great job. I love your stagecraft. The only problem I have is that the choir helped you a little bit.

Simon Cowell: I think you sang better last week. I thought at the beginning you kind of lost your way. Having said that I think you’re gonna be safe as houses next week.

Cheryl Cole: What they said is irrelevant – the people at home have ears!
