X Factor week 3: Jamie ‘Afro’ Archer- Angel Of Harlem
Jamie Archer seemed genuinely worried about tonight's song choice. Not a wonder when you consider he had six days less than the other acts to practice it. Again I do wonder about the judges definitions of 'big band' songs, but it's no bad thing that Jamie got a U2 song, because I can't imagine him singing a Sinatra one can you?
Louis Walsh criticised Simon Cowell for choosing a U2 song during big band week, but why then didn't he criticise Dannii for choosing Proud Mary for Rachel. That was hardly a big band song either.
I think that Jamie did as well in Big Band week as could be expected. Actually he did much better than I could have predicted. He has hopefully done enough to coast through to next week when Bon Jovi will be mentoring the acts. How cool will that be?
Judges Comments:
Louis: Jamie, I’m a little bit confused because the theme this week is big band. I feel its cheating a little bit because you’re not using a big band song.
Dannii: That was rich, that was real. I don’t think it had the magic of last week.
Cheryl: It’s really tough to learn a song in 24 hours and come out and perform it. It didn’t excite me as much as last week, but well done.
Simon: It wasn’t as good as last week, but we only had 24 hours.

What about the Twins!
I don't understand why Louis had a go at Simon for picking a U2 song and then Edward and John came on and did an Enrique Englasias number? Since when did he class as big band? talk about hippocracy!
I didn't enjoy the judges bickering last year and I think that it's worse this time around. Who gives a crap if they can sing Sinatra, I think Jamie is one of the better, more enjotable acts and in my opinion if the song is performed with a big band then it fits the mandate of being able to play with live instruments. Why should someone with a rock style be made to change his style. Miss Frank were allowed to add rap to their song so why should Jamie not be allowed to rock out!
On a separate note does anyone else think that the twins should be pulled limb from limb and each piece sent to different parts of the country as a warning to other Disney star wannabes who cant sing, dance or entertain! Perhaps that's a little harsh, but why don't we just not vote for them?
