Bandana enthusiast and reality TV lothario (and sometime rock star) Bret Michaels has decided that the time has come to write his memoirs. No doubt right now he’s reclining at his mansion with a pipe in hand, fondly reminiscing on his exploits with Poison and beyond.
The title of the book is to be the rather wordy “Roses and Thorns: The Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy to My Reality”, which encapsulates most of what Bret’s known for in the world.
Now, Poison were one of my favourite bands of the 80’s and 90’s. I loved their music, and their image. And I thought Bret Michaels, with his cowboy hat and bandanas was just brilliant. Fast forward a few years, and I became confused by his decision to get on the reality TV gravy train for Rock Of Love.
So, from that point of view, it’ll be interesting to read the inside story of the band and what made him move toward making crap TV shows. I’m also wondering what happened to the aspiring film producer in him, or were those plans shelved in favour of reviving Poison and being an MTV star?
Naturally, Bret is promising that the biography will have explosive revelations about his life with Poison and his sometimes fiery relationship with lead guitarist C.C. DeVille.
“It will give people the untold story. It gives you the sex, the drugs, the rock ‘n’ roll, but it also gives you the diabetes. It gives you every aspect of my life and what I’m going through. I think it’s pretty frank. It’s honest. It’s at times self-deprecating. It’s about what happens when you try to live out your dream and the reality of it all sets in and it’s the hardest and the strangest thing you will ever do. I think when you read it you’ll really get the understanding of what it’s all about.”
I wonder if he’ll confirm the rumours that he’s going bald then?
