Okay so now I’m gonna tell you what you guys should and shouldn’t be buying in the coming weeks.

On 16th November, you should buy DUCK SAUCE’S new single ANYWAY because it’s brilliant. Maybe cos they’re a funk group but I really think this group sound like OUTKAST (anyone remember HEY YA!?) and the beats from ARMAND VAN HELDEN and A-TRACK are fantastic.

Now I have never been a big fan of MARIAH CAREY, yeah sure, she’s released some catchy stuff but back in the early 90s, she was way too cheesy and as she’s got older now, all we’re hearing from her is sexual lullabies. Thankfully her cover of FOREIGNER’S 1984 smash I WANT TO KNOW WHAT LOVE shows us the old vintage Mariah! Yeah it’s as cheesy as Hell but I really get a kick out of listening to her screech and whistle at the end of the song…
CHICANE has also released a killer of a dance tune with HIDING ALL THE STARS. My favourite dance track alongside GET SHAKY this year.

Songs you shouldn’t buy is GET READY by BUBBEL G. It’s an annoyingly catchy tune but not in a good way, sounds tacky and is so generic. There are enough girl groups at the moment anyhow! Don’t buy DOWN by JAY SEAN and LIL WAYNE because it’s also as generic as Hell and sounds like a weaker cousin of FOREVER by CHRIS “Beatdown” BROWN. Not that you guys will listen but PITBULL’S HOTEL ROOM SERVICE is the most horrible head wrecking song of 2009 after its already disastrous predecessor I KNOW YOU WANT ME (CALLE OCHO). Also tell WESTLIFE to release original songs rather than stealing DAUGHTRY’S WHAT ABOUT NOW and killing it.

On 2nd November, there are no particularly brilliant singles yet there are no terribly awful ones either. The main standout for me is JAY-Z and ALICIA KEYS’ EMPIRE STATE OF MIND which still sounds classic even though it cracked the Top 10 in loads of countries about 2 months ago. I’m not such a fan of LAURA WHITE’S YOU SHOULD HAVE KNOWN which sounds dated to me and she could have stopped herself from going down the pop/R&B root like so many others but kudos to her for including the line “The love was wrong but the sex was nice”.

On 9th November, I’m looking forward to BON JOVI’S WE WEREN’T BORN TO FOLLOW. The return of true rock legends. GOTH AT THE DISCO by JUST JACK is one of the album ALL NIGHT CINEMA’S greatest tracks and it’s about time it got a single release. I’m loving BRITNEY SPEARS threesome song aptly titled 3 because I find her robotic voice on the verses incredibly sexy for some reason. It’s great to see JOSS STONE return with her breezy soulful FREE ME. No bad releases this week but damn the press (and Spirit :P) for hyping up SUGABABES’ ABOUT A GIRL. It’s nothing special though I do like their constant references to apple pie in the song. Made me hungry.

On 16th November, it’s lovely to see that there are no horrible singles being released. I agree with Spirit, ALPHA DOG by FALL OUT BOY is their best song since THIS AINT A SCENE. Not quite as good though. LITTLE BOOTS continues to charm us with EARTHQUAKE and RIHANNA’S RUSSIAN ROULETTE is a grower and sounds all lovely and ominous. Its rumoured that she’ll release the more up-tempo THE WAIT IS OVA (taking a leaf out of BEYONCÉ’S book anyone?) but only time will tell. MUSE also release the fantastic, infectious UNDISCLOSED DESIRES and SEAN KINGSTON is annoyingly infectious (not sure if its in a good way or bad way) with FACE DROP. I have a soft spot for FLORENCE & THE MACHINE and while YOU GOT THE LOVE, her GROOVE ARMADA cover, is the most commercial track on her album LUNGS, she should just hurry up and release the fantastically amazing COSMIC LOVE which was already a Top 3 hit in Ireland. TIMBALAND is back with SOSHY and NELLY FURTADO for the really catchy MORNING AFTER DARK which is inspired by TWILIGHT. Great to hear TIMBA’S production again anyways.

On 23rd November, my favouritest band ever PARAMORE released BRICK BY BORING BRICK, all bias aside though it really is the stand out track on the BRAND NEW EYES album and has a sumpremely catchy “bah da ba ba da da da” hook on it. If LADY GAGA can get away with stuttering nonsensical stuff like that then why can’t PARAMORE…

Speaking of LADY GAGA herself, she released new single BAD ROMANCE from the upcoming reissue of her album THE FAME entitled THE FAME MONSTER. The single has that stuttery hook from POKER FACE, has RED ONE on the beats and its bloody brilliant as well. Gaga delivers her best vocal performance yet sounding drunk sometimes and all raspy other times. Plus she sings in French. Best thing is unlike most pop artists, you can definitely hear a progression in her sound and her song writing. LA ROUX’s QUICKSAND is also rather brilliant and a good decision to release it after the not so commercially successful I’M NOT YOUR TOY.
After JEREMIH killing the slow jam a few months ago, the King of Slow Jams, MR. R. KELLY has teamed up with KERI HILSON to show that slow jams don’t need (that much) Auto-Tune to work with NUMBER ONE. Love his vocal breakdown at the end.

TAYLOR SWIFT’S FIFTEEN is more soppy drivel from her album FEARLESS. She really should have released WHITE HORSE or FEARLESS from the album instead, the former being more subtle and heartfelt, the latter being more catchy and inspirational. Oh well. INDUSTRY also release the seriously sickeningly cheesy IN YOUR ARMS.

On 30th November, no bad tracks. Some great ones from LILY ALLEN with WHO’D HAVE KNOWN. Warm and catchy with a great video. KE$HA is believe is going to be a big star in 2010 and TIK TOK proves this with her sassy, controversial lyrics and seriously catchy chorus.

On 7th December, please buy GREEN DAY’S 21ST CENTURY BREAKDOWN single (and album if you want to). Sadly, the album doesn’t seem to be having the same impact as former chart classic AMERICAN IDIOT despite being every bit as good. The title track is brilliant though, I’m kind of concerned they’re releasing it so soon after EAST JESUS NOWHERE though.

On 14th December, ditch PETER ANDRE’S soppy ballad UNCONDITIONAL. It’s so contrived and obviously a ploy to try and knock the yet uncrowned X-FACTOR winner of the Christmas Number 1 spot! Face it, for as long as that show goes on, no-one is going to be hitting the Number 1 spot! More importantly though, SHAKIRA releases the fantastic DID IT AGAIN which is just so brilliant. It’s an electropop song with this international sound. The verses are fantastic, so are the beats and the bridge is cute. It is so much better than SHE WOLF and PHARRELL WILLIAMS is the best mainstream producer out there.

Wow, long article guys! Sorry for the novel…={
