I came across a YouTube comment today that intrigued me – the idea that the current pop culture is rotting away our brains:

The world would be a better place if this were the mainstream instead of the endless sea of shit that’s rotting out everyone’s brain.

Now, obviously I don’t believe that brains are literally rotting, but is the mind-boggling amount of ‘light entertainment’ material. I’m talking about vapid celebrity culture, and the values that shows which follow Kerry Katona, Peter Andre and the rest pass on to impressionable people.

Maybe you’ve got other examples. Maybe you disagree. Do you think the current celebrity obsession has reached dangerous levels? Is it starting to affect how people view the world around them? Or are people clever enough to see light entertainment as just that and nothing more?
