We’re getting adverts targeted at us and they’re coming from all directions! Yet, they’re allowing a new form of advertising. But is it a step too far?
Apparently the first show to have this form of advertising is the morning show “This Morning”. They have a rather funky looking coffee maker just sitting in the kitchen setting next to scales etc while they are presenting/cooking.
I guess it’s not targeted at me, because it certainly doesn’t encourage me to buy that particular coffee maker – or any coffee maker for that matter!
Though, I know when I see a show andI recognise people using an iPhone or BlackBerry, It registers as such and it does trigger me to want to buy an iPhone.
What do you think of this form of advertisement? Is there a place for it on UK television, in your opinion?
