Nooo! Ghost Whisperer is officially as dead as most of its weekly cast of restless spirits. Television needs to find a new vehicle for Jennifer Love Hewitt’s adorable cleavage, right now!
Or, if you’re being all schoolboy about it, you can make jokes at the show passing into the light, just like Ghost Whisperer star Jamie Kennedy said last week when the show had a chance of being picked up by ABC:
They are talking about it, so that’s cool. We haven’t exactly gone into the light, we haven’t crossed over, but we’ve got some life.
It seems Love Hewitt’s natural um charms haven’t been enough to sustain audience share for the show, and original network CBS decided to drop it. Does anyone else kind of feel bad that they stopped tuning into the show? I don’t know what your reasons for drifting away from the show were, but I found it to be quite episodic, so I didn’t really care if I missed an episode or two…until David Conrad’s character got confusingly killed off and by then it was too late.
Still, 5 seasons is a pretty good run for any show, and Ghost Whisperer entertained a wide audience that many shows just don’t tap into. Executive producers Kim Moses and Ian Sander released the following statement yesterday:
After five wonderful seasons and over 100 episodes, we are disappointed to announce ‘Ghost Whisperer’ will not be returning for a sixth season. We’ve had an incredible experience and owe a debt of gratitude to everyone involved.
We continue our relationship with ABC Studios and look forward to developing many more successful projects together in the future.
So, RIP Ghost Whisperer. Are you a fan of the show? Tell us what you think about the cancellation in the comments.
