S03 Newbies

So above we have the newbies (clockwise from top left):

Ben Mansfield as Captain Becker

Jason Flemyng as the sexy Danny Quinn

Belinda Stewart Wilson as Christine Johnson

Laila Rouass as Sarah Page

So, what are our first impressions of the new lot? Here are my thoughts:

Captain Becker - obvious 'pretty boy' replacement for oh-so-pretty-but-oh-so-stupid Stephen. Well, he's not pretty enough I tell you. He hardly talks, he's clearly there for muscle. When he does talk it's sarcastic and arrogant but he fails to pull that off in any way that might charm you (see Arthur from Merlin for how this is done right).He's going to cause conflict with Nick Cutter (and probably get him killed). I don't like him. No good can come of him.

Jason Flemyng as the sexy Danny Quinn - now here is the interesting one. They've given him back story for a start. He has an issue with all the monsters and anomolies because a locat ate his brother as a kid. He's sexy in that chip-on-his-shoulder rugged sort of way and he'll cause friction in the Jenny-Nick love story for sure as well as no doubt interfering in Nick Cutter's business just generally. Definately one to watch.

Belinda Stewart Wilson as Christine Johnson - hmm, so far we know she's after that bit of lead piping which apparently controls the anmolies. There's also bound to be history and tension between her and Lester (played by IRL husband... blah blah, stop me if you've read this before). Time will only tell where her story will go. Is she going to play the adversary or, in some bizarre twist of fate, will she help the team out.

Laila Rouass as Sarah Page - clever, funny and self-deprecating - everything I like in an antagonist. It's a shame we didn't see more of her in E02 but I'm sure her time will come.
