Jimi Mistry and his dance partner Flavia take the floor first for Saturday night’s live show. Before they perform, Jimi praises the “smell of Strictly” – Deep Heat and hair gel.
Jimi and Flavia are dancing the cha-cha to Don’t Upset The Rhythm. He looked a little uncomfortable to begin with, but he soon gets into it. And did I see a few The Guru-style hand gestures thrown in for good measure?
I love Jimi’s facial expressions when he dances, and he’s got fantastic posture. I sound like a fanboy now, don’t I? Here’s what the judges had to say:
Len Goodman: There was nothing adequate about that cha cha cha. Last night there was such a high standard that I thought nothing could come up to that level. Great start to the night. Fabulous. Alesha Dixon: You came out and performed it, plenty of energy, lots of enthusiasm. For a first dance, that was fantastic. Bruno Tolioni: You switched all the lights on, but you went wrong. I could see it in your face and your performance level. Craig Revel-Horwood: It was a little bit like watching the scarecrow from the Wizard Of Oz. You need more control and definition. Great energy. Fantastic.
