Dizzee Rascal

Florence and the Machine & Dizzee Rascal to release Brit Awards 2010 collaboration

Florence and the Machine and Dizzee Rascal will join forces for a performance at this week's BRIT Awards ceremony.

"Florence is kinda wild, but so am I. It will be about putting smiles on people's faces, pure entertainment," the rapper told The Daily Star.

"We're doing a mash-up of 'You've Got the Love' and 'Dirtee Cash', a kind of Nineties extravaganza," he continued. "We've only had three days of rehearsals but I'd have been happy to wing it."

For the first time in BRITs history, viewers will have the chance to download the song 'You Got The Dirtee Love', straight after the show.

For every copy sold, a donation will be made to the BRIT Trust, until 18th March 2010.

Dizzee Rascal - Holiday - Single & Video Review

Dizzee Rascal - Holiday

I know I'm a bit late to reviewing this single, but I've fallen in love with it over the last couple of weeks. From what I gather, Dizzee released this quite late in the summer, which means it totally missed its potential to become this year's holiday anthem.

Although, having said that, it's just in time for sloggers like me who've missed out on a holiday this year. After a couple of listens to Holiday, I'm feeling the urge to have a fortnight on a sun-kissed beach "wif a pina colada or whatevah I'd ravah".

In all honesty, the dream team of Dizzee Rascal and Calvin Harris are my favourite things about pop music at the moment, and songs like Holiday and Harris's Ready For The Weekend are the reason why - they're unabashedly about kicking back and having fun. Especially after seeing Dizzee coolly handle a raving Kate Moss last week, I've gotta commend the guy for just being soooo easy going.

Watch him bopping around in the video - whether in that blindingly garish shirt or the cool off-white suit...

Dizzee Rascal - Bonkers - Single Review

Bonkers, single cover

Dizzee Rascal's Bonkers is going to be anthem for a new generation of crazy bitches. You know the kind - the waaay too drunk loud girls at the club with their fingers pointed skyward as this starts to play. "Bonkerrrrrssss!!!!" they'll shriek at each other before bopping around to this. Boobs will fall out of dresses due to vigorous dancing. The runt of the pack will probably vomit all over the floor when it all ends.

The point is, whereever boisterous girls go to par-tay, this song will go with them.

None of this is a criticism, because Dizzee has managed to cram a ton of urban goodness into this goofy track. Bonkers is one of those songs that has a simple hook and shout-out lyrics that you remember but can never sing back in the right sequence.
