Sneak Peek: JLS sing 'Close To You'
We just love this acapella version of JLS 'Close To You', as performed on GMTV.
The song is taken from their number one selling debut album 'JLS'.
The boys will be releasing their newest single 'One Shot' on the 22nd February, check out the official music video here.
JLS - TOUR REVIEW - SHEFFIELD CITY HALL
Anyone planning to see the boys in their final few legs of their current tour, you are in for a phenomanal night out.
It always puzzled me why their management made the hasty decision to enforce them onto a somewhat 'smaller venue' theatre tour, but by god am i pleased they did.
i'l be honest, i doubt very much they will EVER play some of these intimate venue's again (until maybe in 10/15 years time when they'v been and gone and decide to reform) so if your going to one of these gigs - make the most of it, and if, like me , you are lucky enough to be on the front row, you will certainly get up close and personal to them .
i'm going to brush very quickly over the first support act of the night - simply because if they cant be bothered to sing 'live' to 5 of their 'own' songs at a 'live' gig then why should they recieve any justification of being there. Phacebook are another 5 piece girlgroup squeezing themselves into not only size 0 clothes but an already overcrowded girlband market. Dont get me wrong they are very all very pretty ladies indeed, some of their songs were very catchy and sounded good, but we already have The Saturdays thanks.
Marvin Humes from JLS talks about childhood bullying
Marvin Humes from JLS, the chart-topping boyband who came 2nd to Alexandra Burke in The X Factor, has appeared in a new video discussing how he was bullied at school.
The clips, which launches today, features Marvin surprising pupils at Harefield Academy during assembly where he sings an a capella version of JLS’ number 1 single Everybody In Love.
Marvin talks about how he nearly chose a career in football before focusing on music and writing songs with his mates in the library.
JLS - One Shot - Single & Video Review
For the third single of their debut album, JLS grace us with One Shot, a song which seems purposefully crafted for those X Factor auditions where people get through - the lyrics "You've only got one shot, so make it count, you might never face this moment again..." perfectly suited to those moments where a talented singer with a sad story (I'm recovering from bunions) gets a thumbs up from the judges.
It's a strange single for the JLS boys - it's got all the hallmarks of a boyband ballad, but filtered through a Basshunter backing track. And if it doesn't sound like a good mix on paper, One Shot is a passably good single, ticking all the right chart-friendly boxes. It's danceable, it's got an uplifting sing-along chorus and the video features the boys making microphones magically appear! Extra cool points for that one!
Three singles in, and JLS still have the feel-good factor. Personally, I put that down to the boys being a group before they ever signed on for X Factor. They've got a great vibe about them, and the dance routines in their music videos are fantastic. Check the 'fumbling my words' bit about 26 seconds in to the video - and practice in front of a mirror with some friends!
