Lucie Jones
The X-Factor Finalists 2009: You Are Not Alone
X Factor Rock Week: Lucie Jones sings Sweet Child O' Mine
Ok, ok we get it! Lucie Jones was upset by Simon Cowell's comments last week. Accept it, move on! Be a rock chick Lucie.
Lucie started her performance on a weird gold sofa, wait is that Lucie or Avril Lavigne? No, it's Lucie....phew!
Lucie's vocals were astounding, better than Axel Rose himself. I preferred the second half to the first, but all in all a fabulous performance.
Judges Comments:
Louis: This week you became a rock chick, and that’s not an easy thing to do. You’re one of the most versatile, consistent and professional performers in this competition. Simon, you owe her an apology for last week.
Cheryl: Tonight, I started to think Lucie could be a little Avril Lavigne. You did a great job with a tough song.
X Factor week 3: Lucie Jones - My Funny Valentine
Welsh singer Lucie Jones is losing out due to lacklustre performances on stage – Cheryl said so last week. Michael Buble thought that she could create a 'nice intimate moment' tonight and thankfully I think she succeeded.
Lucie needed to have a good week this week. We were starting to forget that she actually can sing quite brilliantly. Tonight she finally got a chance to showcase her voice properly and her vocals on My Funny Valentine were flawless and very controlled.
I loved the blood red dress and sleek hairdo too. Louis Walsh called her amazing and much as I hate to agree with Louis, he was 100% right.
Judges Comments
Louis: That was a very very amazing performance. A classic song and a great artist. It was just you and your voice. Brilliant arrangement.
X Factor: Lucie Jones sings How Will I Know
Lucie Jones looked amazing tonight in her little blue dress and those long, toned legs. In her VT she looked astounded to meet Whitney Houston but unfortunately failed to take her advice to sass the song up a little.
Lucie's vocals on 'How Will I Know' were perfectly in tune but perfectly boring. There was no oomph, no personality and she needs to give it her all to become more than just a backing singer.
Judges Comments
Cheryl – Well done, that was a great performance, you tried to dance in heels and sing which is hard, but for me there is still a little something not connecting just yet and I’m unsure what it is
Simon – You two will have issues for some reason, you are a different artist to the person we two weeks ago, but I have to hand you some credit, at least you made an to be younger, good performance, you’re never gonna be Whitney, if Dannii can connect you with the song you will do well, I was impressed
X Factor: Lucie Jones sings 'Footprints In The Sand'
What happened to Lucie singing something other than ballads? I mean a song doesn't get more ballady than Leona Lewis' Footprints in The Sand'
Anyway, I digress, Lucie looked amazing on tonights show and for once the X Factor stylist seemed to get it right. Her purple dress with the flowy cape was dramatic and flattering...tick.
Her vocals were also astounding! Lucie has bored me at times in previous performances, she can sometimes be quite staid. However tonight Lucie was captivating and almost matched Leona note for note.I liked it and most of the judges liked it, but typically, Simon preferred the Leona version.
Watch Lucie Jones at X factor Judges Houses
Much as I like Lucie Jones and think she has an amazing voice, she kind of bored me tonight. It was all a bit emotionless and safe, but I'm sure all you Lucie fans will disagree. I'd love to hear your comments in the box below!
Watch Lucie Jones Sing Hurt At X Factor Bootcamp
Lucie Jones was quite the star during last night's X Factor bootcamp and blew the judges away with her rendition of Christina Aguilera's 'Hurt.'
Lucie is widely tipped to have made it to the live shows and though I doubt she could win the series, it is nice to see actual talent rather than awful singers and their dogs, for a change!
X Factor: Lucie Jones the one to watch
Tonights X Factor definitely had marginally more talent than last week but still only one or two stood out.
Welsh teenager Lucie Jones has been touted as the 'one to watch' this season, well out of the girls group anyway. A pretty brunette from a rural village, she’s clearly hungry for a shot at fame. She wowed the judges tonight with her version of 'I Will Always Love You' and you could almost see the pound signs flashing in Simon's eyes.
Lucie has a stunning voice, plus she has 'the look', all the qualities needed to 'make it' in today's music business, well for one album anyway. My sources have confirmed that Lucie is at least through to the judge's houses stage of the competition and I would be very surprised if we don't see her on this year's live shows.
