X-Factor Finalists 2009 You Are Not Alone Live on The X-Factor

All twelve 2009 X-Factor finalists made their way to the stage tonight to perform their new single You Are Not Alone, a cover by the late, great Michael Jackson. Watch the video above which includes a segment about a young boy who bravely recovered from leukemia thanks to Great Ormond Street Hospital. The proceeds of this track will go to said hospital. While I wasn't wrong in thinking this would be a cheesefest, it's not half as bad as last year's finalists cover of Mariah Carey's Hero. This cover is pleasant enough but will probably drive me mad by the time it gets to Number 1 next week. The live performance was quite powerful with not even Jedward messing up vocally but I'd say there's some serious backing vocals going on to disguise any faults any of the contestants make.

Mariah Carey: I Want To Know What Love Is video

Mariah Carey's I Wanna Know What Love Is, a cover of the 1984 Foreigner shmaltz classic, premiered online today. It is the second single to be taken from her 11th LP Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel. Sadly for Mariah, who seems to be having a hard time with the promotion of this album and the charting of her singles, the Hype Williams directed video is one hot mess! Because I agree with The Prophet Blog on practically everything they said, I thought I would quote their hillarious breakdown of the video.

Not one but TWO collaborations from Beyoncé and Lady GaGa

Well, two of the hottest divas in the pop music industry have had both their collaborations leak online (coincidence?). Video Phone by Beyoncé, an old track from her I Am...Sasha Fierce LP has now been remixed with vocals from GaGa and will appear on the Platinum Edition of the album. While I've always admired the slick, eerie beat-driven intro from the original which has thankfully being extended with some Wild West themed effects, the track has always been too overlong and plodding for my liking. While GaGa adds a refreshing twist to the song, both her and Beyoncé showing plenty of swagga, I still find that this track is a bit of a bore. Hopefully my opinion of this song will change when the "wild" delayed video premieres on the 23rd November (as rumour has it)!
