X Factor final 12th December: Stacey Solomon sings Who Wants To Live Forever

Stacey Solomon AKA 'The Voice' chose Who Wants To Live Forever as her favourite song from this year's X Factor series.

From the first word, she was note perfect and that black dress was astounding. Louis Walsh is right for once, very few people can sing Freddie Mercury so well.

When the cameras cut to the crowds cheering Dagenham, you would have sworn there was a new poundworld opening or something!

X Factor final 12th December: Stacey Solomon sings Feeling Good with Michael Buble

Goddamn. Stacey Solomon did a good solo version of Feeling Good and then introduces Michael Buble. It was actually quite enjoyable, because they looked like they were having tons of fun together and there was a great rapport.

Buble disses Dermot when he says he can’t understand his question. Then he relates a wonderfully dull story about how the Queen has his record. Does that constitute royal approval? Will he get to put a crest on his albums? Boring!

X Factor final 12th December: Stacey Solomon sings Wonderful World

Stacey Solomon opened the first X Factor final show tonight with her own audition song, Wonderful World.

Her opening VT showed her and mentor Dannii Minogue returning to Dagenham, where Stacey was received by hordes of screaming fans. Dannii looked surprisingly comfortable in Stacey's mum's living room and was more than amused as the cork from the champagne bottle put out a light bulb.

Proving that often contestants choose better songs than their mentors, Stacey was amazing singing this track. Her vocals were so smooth, they reduced Dannii to tears.

It really was like Jeckyll and Hyde how she flipped between classy stage singer and unintelligible interviews. But the voice, after a couple of wobbly moments in the last couple of weeks is on top form. Strong performance from Stacey to start the night off!

X Factor Semi Final 5th December 2009: Stacey Solomon 'Somewhere'

'Somewhere' is exactly the sort of song that X Factor's Stacey Solomon excels at. A slow power type ballad, where she can wear a long frock and doesn't need to move too much. It's the much talked about candle in the middle of the stage performance that Dannii Minogue referred to earlier in the show.

Thankfully for Stacey this second performance of the night was one hundred times stronger than the first, particularly the last few power notes. She definitely improved but will it be enough to get her through to the final next week? Leave your comments below.

Louis: That song was incredible – the diva from Dagenham!

Cheryl: That gave me goosebumps all over my body. I’ve got to see you in that final.

Simon: Stacey, back in the game sweetheart. What I liked about that song in particular was the first part – the voice we first heard.

X Factor Semi Final 5th December 2009: Stacey Solomon 'The Way You Make Me Feel'

Stacey Solomon chose The Way You Make Me Feel for her Michael Jackson song tonight. I'm a little unsure about the song choice, I think there are other MJ tracks that she could have nailed....this was a little bland for my liking.

The song was too slow for an upbeat number but too fast for a ballad, Stacey was obviously nervous when she was walking across the chairs (understandable when you consider that she took two bad falls off them last night) and it took away from the whole performance.

I like Stacey but I have to agree with Mr Cowell tonight, it was all too cabaret and her movement and routine detracted from her voice.

Louis: I wasn’t crazy about the song. I don’t think the song really suited you. I thought the whole performance took away from the voice.

Cheryl: Talk about yummy mummy, you look hot. It was nice to see you moving about the stage.

X Factor 28th November 2009: Stacey Solomon - The Way You Look Tonight

Oh I fear that Stacey Solomon may be in trouble tomorrow night. This was a shaky performance and it somehow managed to expose all her vocal weaknesses.

Stacey looked amazing in her floor length pink dress, reclined across a piano. However the vocals did not live up and I think that [Dannii Minogue]] has a lot to answer for tonight. Her song choices were baaaaad!

Louis: Stacey, you’re the last girl standing, but you deserve to be here to the final three. I preferred you in round 1 to round 2.

X Factor 28th November 2009: Stacey Solomon - Rule The World

X Factor's Stacey Solomon struggled at the start of Take That's Rule The World tonight. It is an amazing track and I can see why Dannii Minogue chose it, however it was way too low for her.

I hate to say it, because I actually kind of like dippy Stace, but this had to be her worst performance yet. It was flat and pitchy and when her voice emerged from behind the backing track her weaknesses were very much exposed.

In all, I loved the dress but for tonight anyway, not the voice.

Louis: I like you every week. I think you’re getting better and better. You don’t believe this but you’re a really good singer. You absolutely did it for me.

Cheryl: I don’t think people realise how tough it is to sing a male vocal when you’re a female vocalist.

X Factor Queen Week: Stacey Solomon - Who Wants To Live Forever

She’s got the voice of a Dagenham angel, and she’s literally the only female left in the competition! Stacey Solomon sang the Highlander theme, Who Wants To Live Forever, which needed to be amazing. And is it me, or has she toned down the Catherine Tate act this week?

Stacey sported the trademark Leona Lewis ‘big frock’ number tonight. Maybe a trivial point, but I liked her eye makeup. The singing? Amazing. I didn’t think she could pull this off, but Stacey impressed me with a strong vocal. Not perhaps as intricate as Mercury, but definitely shows her promise in this competition. And I can see this song being recycled for a Syco act in the near future…

Judges Comments

Louis Walsh: That was incredible, professional. And you look like a diva, it’s like you’ve been doing this for years and years.

X Factor rock week: Stacey Solomon sings Somewhere Only We Know

Stacey Solomon promised us movement this week, like an actual routine on stage. What we got was half a song of her sitting on props and then a verse of her walking about the stage with the odd spot of bopping on the spot. If that's Brian Friedman's idea of choreography, it's not very good!

On to the vocals. The first half of the song was boring but the second, rockier half was really very good. Stacey's vocals completely hit the spot and it was the perfect song choice for the Dagenham one.

Louis: You’re definitely the most popular girl in this competition. I wasn’t crazy about the song choice, but I love you.

Cheryl: Actually, I loved that song choice for you. The thing we love about you is your personality.

Simon: It was like an X Factor miracle tonight, you walked! As I said, you haven’t moved in three weeks. I thought it was terrific, one of your best performances.
