Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) organises Haiti auction
Teen actress Miley Cyrus has organised an auction to raise money for victims of the recent Haiti earthquake.
On her new eBay page, Cyrus is selling the Herve Leger dress she wore to the Grammy Awards and two tickets to the Hollywood premiere of her new film The Last Song.
Demi Lovato, Hugh Jackman, Nicole Richie and Britney Spears, have also donated items to be auctioned.
"Ever since the earthquake, I've been trying to do my part to help the people of Haiti, and I wanted to do more," Cyrus told People. "Everyone has been so generous. My mum and I started calling and texting all of our friends to see if they'd like to be part of the auction.
"Demi was one of the first to respond. Hugh Jackman was also excited to donate something. I texted Nicole and right away she sent over some amazing jewellery and Joel [Madden] sent some of his clothes."
Cyrus added: "I want to get people involved and show that even the little things you can do can make a difference."
Disability abuse- ignored and condoned. Have we learnt nothing from the Deaths of the Pilkingtons?
This week we saw two very different attitudes to comments that are offensive and the response by the media. Sharron Davies had her routine on Dancing on Ice referred to as being like "faecal matter that won't flush". A public apology follows from judge Jason Gardiner and lots of reports in the press with Sharron Davies questioning Jason Gardiner's fitness to foster children.
On Big Brother's Big Mouth, Vinnie Jones describes Davina McCalls' walk as being like a "retard" then gets up and demonstrates what he means. Awful. Complaints will follow.Jones will be forced to publicly apologise for his vile behaviour using the same word and gestures that were used against Fiona Pilkington and her disabled daughter which drove them to their deaths. Davina will lose her contracts and probably be removed from Comic Relief which sponsors projects for disabled people for her blatant disablism.
Sadly no.
The audience laughed as did Davina who then repeated the word.
No action was taken.
No apology made.
The programme makers have actually posted the programme complete with the offensive comments on 4 On Demand. You can view it now. Read more »
Nicholas Hoult made NSPCC's first ambassador for children and young people (VIDEO)
English actor Nicholas Hoult, who starred in About A Boy, E4’s cult teen series Skins and, most recently, in Tom Ford’s directorial debut, A Single Man and the upcoming Clash of the Titans, has been made the NSPCC's first ambassador for children and young people, encouraging young people to get in touch with ChildLine by phone on 0800 1111 or online to talk about their problems. Nicholas has also been nominated for a BAFTA Rising Star Award, the award for an actor or actress set for great things.
To celebrate the appointment as NSPCC ambassador and the BAFTA nomination, an exclusive video clip of Nicholas has been released in which he talks candidly about his time on the set of A Single Man, about exploring the different layers of emotion, expressing it on screen, staying focussed on set and connecting with other human beings. Mel Gibson calls interviewer an asshole! (VIDEO)
Mel Gibson has been caught on video calling a TV reporter an asshole following an awkward interview.
WGN-TV journalist Dean Richards dared to question Gibson about his 2006 arrest for drink-driving by
'That's almost four years ago, dude,' said Mel, 54, who was speaking via satellite link.
'I've done all the necessary mea culpas. Let's move on.'
Dean quickly wrapped up the interview.
But before the feed could be cut, Mel was heard muttering 'a**ehole' under his breath.
That's not very Christian now is it Mel boy?
Jennifer Love Hewitt says weight obssesed media is feeding eating disorders
Jennifer Love Hewitt has hit out at the media for its obsession with people's weight.
The Ghost Whisperer actress revealed that many publications have branded her as 'fat', even though she has never been larger than a size two (UK size six).
"One of the magazines admitted that it had added extra weight to the pictures, and it concerns me that young girls reading those stories don't know that," she said. "All they know is that they're sitting at home, maybe four or five sizes bigger than me, and their role model is called a 'big house' - what does that do to them?
"Young girls don't know what has been airbrushed and what hasn't and I think it's very irresponsible. I think we are feeding eating disorders; we are promoting sickness to girls using celebrity role models."
She continued: "Not just me - they have done it to Jessica Simpson and other young female celebrities. Every time you turn around a different girl is 'fat' in the eyes of the media. And it's not fair and it's not true and it's not smart because we are not fat."
Jennifer also admitted that newspapers have also branded her as being too skinny at times. Read more »

Katie Price talks about Alex Reid on Big Brother's Big Mouth
An unusually camera-shy Katie Price got dragged onto the Big Brother's Big Mouth stage tonight by Davina McCall to talk about Celebrity Big Brother winner Alex Reid.
Putting on a rather demure front (as in, her epic cleavage was covered up for once), Price called Reid the love of her life. And we all distinctly recall her saying the same thing about Peter Andre, so the big question is "How many loves of your life can you have in your life?" Same old nonsense, eh?
As we all expected, she said that it wasn't a surprise that her boyfriend Reid and former fiance Dane Bowers had made it all the way to the final because "I don't go for shit 'eds."
Price described her favourite Big Brother moment as Alex getting fake tan applied by Nicola Tappenden. She claimed that they're both crazy and Alex runs around with his kit off all the time at home.
Later on, Davina grills Alex about whether there'll be wedding bells in his future. He looks coy, and the camera pans to a shifty looking Price. This is interesting. We've just seen an advert for Peter Andre's expose in News Of The World this weekend, so an announcement of Alex and Katie Price getting married would deflate that story pretty quickly. Stay tuned for more information. I'm guessing Katie thinks that a wedding would restore her fortunes.
Amy Winehouse pleads guilty to assault, gets fine
Off the rails jazz singer, Amy Winehouse, has pleaded guilty to assaulting a manager of the Milton Keynes Theatre in Buckinghamshire last year.
Well known for her erratic behaviour and substance-influenced attacks on random people, Amy pleaded guilty to common assault on 27 year old Robert Pound at the theatre on 19 December 2009. Winehouse was ordered to pay £100 compensation and £85 costs and was also given a two-year conditional discharge. The judge, Peter Crabtree said:
Mr Pound is a person whose job involves interaction with the public. If he's assaulted he deserves the court's protection... In this case it's obvious that alcohol played its part. [Regarding the discharge] It may be harder than a fine because you have now got to stay on the straight and narrow for the next two years.
I don't think this bodes particularly well for a follow-up to her 2006 album, Back To Black. Unfortunately, the wayward singer may find herself behind bars if she continues this self-destructive behaviour. Hopefully she won't go that far.
Mitch says Amy Winehouse always had a wild streak!
Mitch Winehouse has revealed that his daughter Amy has always had a wild and independant streak. Mitch told The Daily Star that the singer used to disappear from the tender age of two.
Mitch said: “Amy’s mum Janice came home one day and she’d lost Amy in the park."
“I of course went crazy as she was only two or two-and-a-half."
“Amy had gone up to a friend of my sister she saw in the park and the girl took her home and never phoned to tell us!
“So for six hours we were convinced she was gone. Then Amy walked in. I was sitting on the stairs crying and she said, ‘Don’t cry, Daddy’. She knew that she had got us.
“Twenty-four years later she is still disappearing!”
