Notifications on blog and group posts
I've added a feature to allow us to get notifications when people comment on blog posts and when they post into one of our groups.
To get emails about new posts
- Go to the "My Account" link in the right sidebar. Your user page will load.
- You should see a Notifications link under your name. Click this, and then click the Content Type link.
- Next, select the types of content you want to be notified about - I have Blog entries, Group Posts and Wiki Pages selected - and save the changes. If you don't want to be notified for every single message, change the settings from Immediately to something like daily or weekly.
Groups and Notifications
When you join or create a group, you should be subscribed to email notifications immediately.
The only exception to this is if your group was created before we set the notifications system up. Which is why you'll get emails from the Primeval fan group, but (currently) not from the Doctor Who group.
The solution is to unsubscribe from the group and then join it again.
