Usher, Katy Perry and Edward Maya atop the US, Canadian and Irish charts respectively

It’s time to have a look at some of the chart’s across the World; Usher and will.i.am. spend their third week atop the US Billboard Hot 100, Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg spend their second week atop the Canadian Hot 100, and Edward Maya and Vika Jigulina  reach the #1 spot in Ireland. Let’s take a more in-depth look at them.

US Chart:

I cannot believe the Worldwide success of OMG. What is will.i.am. doing so right all of a sudden? The man has a Midas touch – everything he’s involved with these days in chart gold. B.o.B. and Hayley Williams are at #2 with the fantastic Airplanes – quite an achievement considering there’s no music video for it yet. Hopefully it will knock off the mighty dragons, Usher and will.i.am, next week. The rest of the Top 10 is made up of Taio Cruz, Eminem, the other B.o.B. song and pop tarts Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Rihanna, Lady GaGa and Miley Cyrus.

Rock seems to be making a comeback – hard rock band Avenged Sevenfold debut at a respectable #51 with their new single Nightmare while Muse debut at #77 with their The Twilight Saga: Eclipse single Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever). Expect it to rise when the movie is released at the beginning of June.

In Christina Aguilera Chart Watch, her disappointing comeback single Not Myself Tonight has dropped further down the chart from#57 to#73. There is light at the end of the tunnel though, her new single Woo-Hoo featuring Nicki Minaj has arrived at #79 on the chart.

Over on the album chart, the new Glee album is #1 while The Rolling Stones and The Black Keys aren’t far behind at #2 and #3.

Canadian Chart:

The only deserved #1 in my eyes this week is California Gurls which spends its second week atop the Canadian Hot 100. The rest of the chart is similar to the US chart only in a different order. Former #1, Wavin’ Flag by American charity group Young Artists For Haiti spends its 11th week in the Top 10 at #9. Woo-Hoo has fared better in Canada debuting at #46 as has Neutron Star Collision which has debuted at #60. Touchin’ On My – the second single from 3OH!3’s new album Streets Of Gold has also entered the chart on #21.

The Glee Cast score a #1 with their new album while reality TV winner William Deslauriers and Justin Bieber follow up at #2 and #3.

Irish Chart:

Eurrrgh! I’m starting to think the people in my home country of Ireland have no taste, Alexandra Burke has been toppled from the #1 spot after one week by none other than Edward Maya and Vika Jigulina with their cheap, accordion heavy trance number Stereo Love. Alex has to reside at #2 while Eminem debuts at #3 with his new single Not Afraid. Two more new entries to the chart include We Dance On by N-Dubz and Bodyrox and Glee’s very good version of Bad Romance. Glee also welcome Poker Face and Dream On to the chart while the new singles by Rihanna, David Guetta, Iyaz Alicia Keys, K’nann, Lamph and Dizzee Rascal also debut from the Top 20 down to 50.

The biggest drop in the chart is Irish band New Sunset Hotel and their singleThe Bitter End. The song was #10 last week but now sits at #34. I’m quite suspicious about the Irish charts when unknown national acts suddenly crack the Top 10 and then suddenly drop and are gone from the chart in 2 weeks. Industry are a prime example – their first 2 singles debut at #1 and are gone from the chart in 2 weeks. Industry who, you ask? Exactly. I have a feeling the Irish Charts are fixed.

Fixed or not, here are the Irish Top 10 Singles and Albums (Glee appear to be #1 across the board):
