Anne Rice
Anne Rice is the bestselling American author of The Vampire Chronicles, a series of books that chart the lives of various fictional vampires, most notably Lestat de Lioncourt. Rice has also written a series of books about a family of witches, known as Lives Of The Mayfair Witches
She has also published erotic fiction under the pseudonyms A.N. Roquelaure and Anne Rampling.
Rice was married for 41 years to the poet Stan Rice, whose work is often featured in her novels at the beginning of chapters. She has said that Stan was partly the inspiration for her best-known character, Lestat. Stan Rice died in December 2002.
