The sixth series of Celebrity Big Brother launches on 2 January 2009. The series reprises after a year off which was prompted by a race row between Jade Goody and Shilpa Shetty in the 2007 series.

Long standing presenter, Davina McCall will return to present the main shows, while comedian Jack Whitehall will be the main presenter of the spin-off show, Big Brother's Big Mouth. George Lamb returns as the host of Big Brother's Little Brother with former Celebrity Big Brother contestant Michael Barrymore providing special reports for the show.

The housemates entered the house on 2 January 2009 on the live launch night. The following is a list of the housemates in the order which they arrived.

- Michelle Heaton (former Liberty X singer)
- Terry Christian (former presenter of The Word)
- Ulrika Jonsson (television presenter)
Evictions
- 1st Eviction: Ulrika Jonsson and Lucy Pinder were nominated by head of house Terry Christian. Lucy Pinder was evicted following a public vote on 9th January 2009.
Logo
In keeping with previous years, the show will feature an altered version of the previous summer's series of Big Brother. A white star has been added to the centre of the eye in the logo.
