Cougar Town (TV Series)
Cougar Town is a 2009 sitcom created by Scrubs mastermind Bill Lawrence and starring Friends actress Courtney Cox. Cox plays Jules Cobb, a recently-divorced 40 year old and mother of one who is struggling to come to terms with single life.
The phrase "Cougar" in the context of the title means a "hot older woman".
The first episode of the series aired on ABC on 23 September 2009.
Plot
Jules Cobb is a real estate agent and freshly divorced. Her colleague, Laurie, encourages her to get back in the dating game, while her friend and neighbour Ellie feels like their relationship is suffering because Jules has a different lifestyle now.
Jules's son, Travis, is generally supportive of his mother, but sometimes her dating exploits cause him embarrassment.

- Bobby Cobb (Brian Van Holt) - Bobby is Jules's ex-husband and father of Travis.
- Travis Cobb (Dan Byrd) - Travis is Jules's teenage son who is frequently embarrassed by Jules's dating antics.
- Laurie Keller (Busy Phillips) - Laurie works with Jules and is much younger. She encourages Jules to go out at the weekend 'on the prowl'.
- Ellie Torres (Christa Miller) -Ellie is Jules's best friend. She's generally supportive of Jules, but feels her new lifestyle is coming between their friendship.
- Andy Torres (Ian Gomez) -Andy is Ellie's oversexed husband.
- Grayson Ellis (Josh Hopkins) -Grayson is Jules's infuriating neighbour. She takes exception to him for sleeping with a string of young women and the two have a generally antagonistic relationship.
