Eve Myles

Eve Myles is a Welsh actress best known for playing the role of Gwen Cooper in Torchwood. Born in 1978, her career began in earnest after graduating from the Royal Welsh College of Drama & Music in 2000.

She has worked in both stage and screen, but Eve's big break came in 2005 with an episode of Doctor Who called The Unquiet Dead, in which she played Gwyneth, a mortuary assistant with the ability to communicate with alien beings through the Cardiff Rift. Series producer Russell T Davies was impressed and declared "It just confirmed to me that she was one of Wales' best-kept secrets." As a result, the role of Gwen Cooper in Torchwood was written specifically for Myles.

She has subsequently appeared in the series 4 finale of Doctor Who along with her Torchwood co-stars, and played a dual role in the premiere episode of Merlin.
