Knight Rider (TV Series)

Knight Rider is a television series created by Glen A Larson. The original series ran from 26 September 1982 to 8 August 1986, although a number of spin-off series' have been aired since. The concept of the show was that a young ex-policeman, Michael Knight and a car fitted with an Artificial Intelligence chip could fight criminals that escaped the legal system.

In 2008, a television movie aired as a pilot for a new series of Knight Rider that would continue the story with the character of Michael Traceur as the driver of the new version of KITT. Traceur was revealed in the pilot to be the son of Michael Knight.

Original Knight Rider cast

The cast of the 1980's series was as follows:

  • David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight: First shown as Michael Long in the pilot, the policeman is shot at close range in the face and is rescued by the billionairre Wilton Knight, who has Long's face remodelled with plastic surgery. Initially reluctant to join Knight's team, Michael eventually accepts his offer and begins working with Devon Miles at the Foundation for Law and Government.
  • Edward Mulhare as Devon Miles: Devon led the Foundation, and was the person responsible for assigning missions to Michael. Despite being initially resistant to Michael becoming involved with FLAG, Devon and Michael eventually develop a close bond, even if he doesn't always approve of Michael's methods.
