Queen
Queen are a four piece rock band who formed in London in 1970. The classic lineup was singer Freddie Mercury, guitarist Brian May, drummer Roger Taylor and John Deacon on bass guitar. After the death of Freddie Mercury in 1991, the band's activities diminished somewhat. John Deacon retired from the band in 1997, but Taylor and May continued to use the Queen name for various projects, eventually being joined by singer Paul Rodgers for two tours and an album.
The band were notable for their pioneering experiments with multi-tracked guitar parts and vocal harmonies, shown off to best effect on their seminal single Bohemian Rhapsody.
