Elimination

Rachel was eliminated from the X Factor on 1st November 2009, after appearing in the bottom two for a third time. She entered a sing-off with Welsh singer Lloyd Daniels and sang Stop Crying Your Heart Out by Oasis. Both Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue voted to save her. Cheryl Cole voted to save her own act, Lloyd Daniels and Simon Cowell created a tie-break situation.

The public vote was recalled and Rachel was the contestant with the lowest number of votes. Simon Cowell commented that he would have saved her, but that she'd been in the bottom two three times. He suggested that there was a disconnect between Rachel and the public.
