Samantha Who? (TV Series)

Samantha Who? is an American sitcom about a female realtor who suffers retrograde amnesia after a hit and run accident. The show focuses on Samantha discovering that she wasn't a pleasant person, and the show logo features a halo and devil horns symbolizing the two sides of Samantha's character.

The character of Samantha (or 'Sam') is played by the American actress Christina Applegate, best known for her role as Kelly Bundy in the sitcom Married With Children.

The show first aired in America on 15 October 2007 on ABC. The series was created by the novelist Cecelia Ahern and Don Todd.

Samantha Who? is produced by Applegate and Ahern, while Don Todd and Peter Traugott serve as Executive Producers.

Synopsis

Samantha Newly is a high-flying realtor in Chicago. She is injured in a hit and run accident and spends eight days in a coma. When she recovers from the coma, she has no memory of who she is.

She is shocked to discover that before the accident, she was a horrible person, and the ripple effects of that discovery continue to shape her self-image and her relationships with friends and family.

Characters and Cast

• Samantha Newly (Christina Applegate) - Samantha is a successful Chicago realtor until an accident leaves her with no memory of her past and she has to try to rebuild her life with the help of friends and family.
• Todd Deepler (Barry Watson) - Todd is Samantha's ex-boyfriend. He still lives in the apartment they shared as a couple and works as a freelance photographer.
• Regina Newly (Jean Smart) - Regina is Samantha's mother, who is using her amnesia as an opportunity to reconnect with her daughter. Prior to the accident, she and Samantha hadn't spoken for several years.
• Howard Newly (Kevin Dunn) - Howard is Samantha's father.
• Andrea Belladonna (Jennifer Esposito) - Andrea was Samantha's best friend before her accident. She and Samantha shared the same interests and she is a reminder of Samantha's 'bad' side.
• Dena (Melissa McCarthy) - Dena is a childhood friend of Samantha's that she hasn't actually seen for years. Samantha seems to relate to Dena and in contrast to Andrea is a warmer, kinder personality.
• Frank (Tim Russ) - Frank is the doorman to Samantha and Todd's building. Samantha has an assumed friendship with him that he doesn't reciprocate, and usually replies to her with sarcasm.
