Fight Club is a novel about a man who, disenfranchised with the consumerism of modern living, and the lack of masculinity in his culture, establishes a secretive club where men go to fight each other and regain their sense of identity.

The novel was published in 1996, and later given a movie adaptation by director David Fincher (and starring Brad Pitt and Edward Norton).

The Queen Of The Damned is the third book in Anne Rice's series called The Vampire Chronicles, and a sequel of sorts to the story which began in the second book, The Vampire Lestat. The Queen Of The Damned was published in 1988 and later adapted into a movie version starring Stuart Townsend and Aaliyah in 2002.

Ian Rankin is a Scottish author, most notable for writing the Inspector Rebus series of Crime novels. He is one of the UK's best selling crime novelists.
