Jimmy Page is best known as the lead guitarist and founding member of the legendary rock group, Led Zeppelin. A session musician in the 1960's, Page joined The Yardbirds shortly before the band split up and famously assembled the members of what would become Led Zeppelin in order to wrap up the contractual obligations of the band. For twelve years, he toured and recorded with Zeppelin, until the death of drummer John Bonham in 1980 ended the band.
Biography
Page was born on 9th January 1944 in Heston, Middlesex, England. He got his first guitar at the age of 12 and mostly taught himself to play by listening to records. Page cites the guitar work of Scotty Moore and James Burton as influential, especially Elvis Presley's Baby, Let's Play House.
Other influences on Page at the time were Bert Jansch's folk music and the blues playing of B.B. King and Elmore James.

James Hetfield
James Hetfield is a singer and guitarist and one of the founding members of Metallica. As the band's frontman, Hetfield's snarling vocal delivery and unique rhythm guitar playing helped to popularise the Thrash Metal genre in the early 1980's.
Biography
Hetfield was born in Downey, California, in a suburb of Los Angeles on 3rd August 1963. He began to play guitar and was influenced by bands such as Black Sabbath, Aerosmith, Thin Lizzy and AC/DC, and later responded to an advert for musicians posted by drummer Lars Ulrich. Ulrich was looking for other musicians to form a band with and so the beginnings of Metallica were formed.
Hetfield and Ulrich relocated to San Francisco in 1983, with Cliff Burton and future Megadeth frotnman Dave Mustaine. Mustaine was quickly dropped in favour of Kirk Hammett, who joined the band as lead guitarist just before they released their debut album, Kill 'Em All.
