American Idol (2010 Series)
American Idol 2010 is the ninth season of American Idol, the long-running talent show. The series launched in the USA on 12th January 2010, with the early auditions stages.
Regional auditions for the show were held between June and July 2009, and the callback round was held between 5th August and 4th September 2009. During the callback phase, a series of celebrity judges joined the panel. Long-time Idol host Ryan Seacrest was in attendance during the auditions stages and returns to present the series this year.

The X Factor 2009
The X Factor 2009 is the sixth series of the UK reality TV series, The X Factor. The 2009 series retains the same judging panel and presenting team as the 2008 series. The division of contestants into four groups (under 25 males, under 25 females, groups and over 25s) will be retained and each judge will mentor one group.
According to reports, the Saturday night live shows will be extended to 2 hours long and ITV are introducing an elimination show on the Sunday night where the voted-off contestant is revealed.
The series was won on the evening of Sunday 13 December 2009 by Joe McElderry.

Big Brother 2009 (Series 10)
Big Brother 2009 is the tenth series of the popular UK reality TV show. The show will be hosted by Davina McCall and narrated as always by Marcus Bentley. The series begins on 4 June 2009 and runs for thirteen weeks with a potential prize of £100,000 for the winner.
There will be 16 housemates living in the house, although more may be added throughout the series.

On the launch night (4 June 2009), Big Brother called a housemate to come to the Diary Room. Rodrigo volunteered and was told that none of the contestants were housemates. He was told that his place and that of a volunteer would be guaranteed if the volunteer agreed to have his/her eyebrows shaved off and glasses and moustach drawn on with a permanent marker. Noirin volunteered and the two were confirmed as housemates. The remaining non-housemates were given special costumes to distinguish their undetermined role.

The eighth season of American Idol launched on 13 January 2009. In this season, the original three judges - Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson - are joined by songwriter Kara DioGuardi. Ryan Seacrest returns as presenter for the series.

Among the changes to the show's format, there are to be fewer 'funny' auditions in season 8, and more focus on the auditionees. The show is to spend more time focussing on the contestants' histories and viewers will learn more about them.
Ken Warwick takes over from Nigel Lythgoe as Executive Producer of American Idol. Lythgoe, who has been with American Idol since the beginning, is moving on to So You Think You Can Dance and Superstars Of Dance.
