The Yardbirds
The Yardbirds are a band who formed in 1962 at the height of the British R&B explosion. The band had a string of hits, but are best known for launching the careers of three legendary British guitarists: Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page.
Although the band split up in 1968 - at which point Page formed Led Zeppelin - original members Cris Dreja and Jim McCarty reformed the band in 1992 and the group continues to tour to the present day.
