John Adeleye’s singing to have fun tonight. If Cheryl is to be believed. John is the second performer on tonight’s [[The X Factor 2010|X Factor]]. Loving the silver jacket and the tied back hair.
The song is unknown to us – Zoom by Big Fat Larry’s Band. Anyone heard of it? No? Us neither.
Vocally, John’s on top form as usual. This guy has a brilliant voice, and he shows off an impressive vocal range. But here’s the downside of being Louis’ act – the song’s out of date and a bit boring. I’m not sure how that counts as bringing the fun.
- Dannii Minogue: I have to say you gave a good performance tonight. It’s not one of my favourite songs, I admit, but you sang it so well. It’s a difficult song to sing. I love the fact that we got to know you this week. What were those dancers doing across the stage? That was so distracting.
- Cheryl Cole: Your the mentor in all fairness, if you’d wanted to take them out, you should’ve said. That’s the beauty of you though, you always deliver, you don’t let things distract you. You’re always present and deliver your vocals really really well. That’s all you need to do.
- Simon Cowell: I was trying to concentrate…[gives extended anecdote about watching a newscaster while two dogs were mating in the background] you were singing the horrible song Louis gave you and you gave it everything you did, but it was one of the weirdest things I’ve ever seen in my life.
- Louis Walsh: I’m gonna judge John on his vocal and his new hair, his new look. You came out here tonight like a popstar. Yes, the dancers were a bit of a distraction, I admit. I want people at home to vote for you on your singing, not on the silly dancing.
Simon went on to criticise Louis’ song choice for John. But it was pretty bad, wasn’t it? John deserves better!
