It sounds like Louis is starting to warm to Katie Waissel after having saved her last week. And having learned from her mistake, Katie’s stripping it back on this week’s [[The X Factor 2010|X Factor]].
Her song tonight is Etta James’ I’d Rather Go Blind. No crazy costumes this week, Katie’s looking pretty in a simple dress. I don’t know if it’s part of the performance, but she has a teardrop in her eye when she starts singing.
While she gives a beautiful, smoky rendition of I’d Rather Go Blind, we see Simon giving her a respectful nod. This is looking good. This is redemption for Katie. She’s ditched her gimmicks and let her voice shine through. If the public can be convinced to give her another chance, Katie might survive this week.
- Louis: Katie, I am so glad I saved you last week. You’re a hard worker, you’re very emotional and I think people in the press are giving you a hard time, they’re not judging you on your talent. Tonight, you sung your heart out. You deserve to be on the show, I want people to give you another chance.
- Dannii: Nobody can deny you sang with every bit of effort, and that’s why I saved you last week. I like it when it’s stripped back, you’ve still got your personality. And the thing we’ve got to get across in the X Factor is to really show that personality, show who you are.
- Simon: You know what, I think she is showing her true self. You’ve wanted this all your life. You’ve had a bit of a tough time, but so what? There’s something about you Katie I really like. There’s a rawness, there’s an authenticity. And I’m interested in you. You’re one of those people every week I want to hear again and again. I thought that was terriffic by the way.
- Cheryl: You are such a great girl. I really enjoy everything about you.
