It’s an odd song choice for Rebecca Ferguson tonight, but a cover of Chris Isaak’s Wicked Game might just be different enough to stand out. We love listening to Rebecca, and this song’s an absolute classic.
Rebecca performs with a string section seated on the stairs behind her. It’s an atmospheric performance and she attacks it with a lot of power in her vocal. Definitely different to Chris Isaak’s version, but very good all the same. Not really much to do with the Halloween theme, but Rebecca’s vocals are really starting to take a distinctive turn at this point, and it’s lovely to hear.
- Louis Walsh: Rebecca. Liverpool’s finest. We have to remember what we’re looking for. We’re looking for a star, someone who’s going to sell millions and millions of records with a unique recording voice, and that person is definitely you.
- Dannii Minogue: I would just love to hear your version of that song over and over and over again. It was so classy, you look stunning and if it’s possible, I think your voice has improved and gotten stronger this week.
- Cheryl Cole: It gets to this point every week on the show where I want to say so much to you that I get stuck. You are exactly what this show is all about. You are the perfect ambassador for Britain, but you’re world class.
- Simon Cowell: I can tell that you’re nervous this week. That was total, utter class. You’re beginning to remind me of when Leona Lewis was on this show and I saw somebody turn into a star. Great choice of song.
