Brace yourselves TV viewers, here comes crazy, campy Wagner and his terrible performances. Tonight, for [[The X Factor 2010|X Factor]]’s Halloween theme, he’s doing a mashup of Bat Out Of Hell and O Fortuna.
Perhaps the best thing about Wagner is that he looks completely unhinged. This one has all the usual banal staging that Brian Friedman’s famous for. Wagner’s singing is tuneless as ever, but the beauty is that he sounds Transylvanian. “Like a bat out of hell, I’ll be gone ven de morning comes…”
Every bit of this is terrible – tuneless, he misses his cues and forgets lyrics. It’s testament to how much the judges don’t care that they barely raise these issues. And as Cowell doesn’t actually say, the people who vote for Wagner are still lining his pockets, so he’s laughing all the way to the bank with his novelty act anyway. Joke’s on you, British public.
- Louis Walsh: You are the fun of the X Factor, you are the act that everyone is talking about on the street. You have your own fan club out there. I want them all to vote for you.
- Dannii Minogue: Wagner, I love your Halloween costume, it’s adorable. I have to say, I wasn’t expecting that at all! It’s different.
- Cheryl Cole: It was a little bit out of time, Wagner.
- Simon Cowell: What the hell was that? Louis, what are you drinking? I’m not being rude, but I didn’t understand a single word. Having said that, people like you and if they vote for you I can always leave the country.
