Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue have been told that they will have to re-audition for their jobs as judges on the ITV reality show, The X Factor, it has been reported today.
Although Simon Cowell has confirmed that he wants both to be on the next judging panel, he thinks it is only fair they both apply formally, to sell themselves to the show.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Simon wants them both back on the panel because he loves the chemistry they have developed. The fact he has ordered them to re-audition and screen test for their jobs is something of a formality – both are assured of the position.
“However it is still pretty galling and to have to go through the motions of explaining why they would be good for the role, and what they could bring to the position, is extremely frustrating.
“But Simon is determined to avoid complacency this series and wants all the judges to be at the top of their game. They are two of the most sought-after jobs in the industry so it’s only fair they apply for their places just like everybody else.”
It is still un-decided if Cowell will himself be taking the part, amidst plans to release the show state-side, as well as speculation over which of the shows fellow judge, Cheryl Cole will be residing on, with bookies favourite to replace her being Pussycat Doll, Nicole Sherzinger, who wowed British audiences when she filled in for an ill Cheryl Cole during last years audition and boot camp stages.
